Here is a DVD of home movies of the Avery Family from (or near) Phoenix, Arizona. The footage is from the 1940s.
It includes many family outings at home or at various locations around Arizona (and a few other places). Some of the locations I viewed were the following:
Encanto Park
Paradise Valley near what is now Scottsdale Rd.
Papago Park before the Phoenix Zoo was created
Snowbowl near Flagstaff
Coal Mine Canyon
Payson
Roosevelt Lake
and several others
I found it fascinating to see the scenery, cars, other modes of transportation, fashion, styles, etc. from the 40s era.
Narration and classical music were added to the DVD for information and viewing pleasure.
