    Description

Authentic Victor Victrola Talking Machine Rolled-Thread Cabinet Screws
For Fastening of Motors, Motor Decks, Horns & Tone-Arms
Nickel Plated finish (other finishes may be available, but are listed separately)
Please Note: These prices are for a set of Three (3) Fasteners, set up in the most common configurations. Prices include USPS Shipping to all 50 States.
These are 1/4-24 rolled threads - you won't find these at the hardware store! Victor cabinet brackets, rails & horns are machined to accept this thread size.
Please contact me if you need a larger quantity or if you need more than what the listing says is available.
These fasteners have been carefully removed from the machines. I offer them in three condition grades: A, B, & C. Grades A & B have been cleaned and polished. Grade C screws have been left "As Found".
    A Grade
screws are the best ones I have. Slots are neat & clean, finish is bright and threads are in the best (used) condtion. These are for top-shelf restoration projects.
    B Grade
screws are pretty good. Slots may have some very slight deformation from use. Finish is good, but may not perfect. Threads are in very good condition. B Grade screws are a good choice for most projects.
    C Grade
screws are functional, but are not cleaned or buffed. Slots may show some deformation (but are still functional). Finish may have dull or missing plating and some pitting. Threads are good. C Grade screws are functional, but look well-used and old. Good for machines where a bright, shiny screw would look out of place.
I will always send the best screws on hand at the time, based on grade ordered. If you need something real special for a top-shelf restoration, please contact me prior to purchase so I can send you photos for approval.
Rolled threads are stronger and tougher than cut threads. They are rarely used these days in consumer products due to cost of manufacture. Another example of "they don't make 'em like they used to!"
These screws are available in several different configurations as follows:
    Pan-Head machine screws:
These are used to secure the motor decks to the cabinet frame. On some models these are also used to fasten the horn flange to the deck.
I offer them with or without the lock washer and hex nut.
    Round-Head machines screws:
These are used to fasten the motor to the deck and also to fasten the Tone-Arm and Horn.
I offer these by themselves or set up with a flat-washer, fiber washer and double hex-nuts to be used for mounting the motor to the deck.
    Sizing & Application:
The 1-1/8 Pan-Head screws can be used for mounting the motor decks to the cabinet rails or frame. They are generally used with a lock-washer and single hex-nut unless the rail or bracket is threaded for them.
The 1-3/8 Pan-Head screws can also be used this way. Sometimes they are also used to fasten the horn to the deck. The 1-3/8" is the most popular size.
The 1-3/8" & 1-3/4" Round-head screws are generally used to mount the tone-arm and horn. Nuts and washers are  not needed for this application.
The 2+" Round-head screws are used in conjunction with a steel flat washer, a fiber washer and two hex nuts to fasten the motor to the deck.
The steel washer goes under the head to protect the wood deck. The fiber washer goes between the motor frame and the deck. The double hex-nuts go under the motor at the bottom of the stack.
These longer screws varied between 2" on up to about 2-1/4"
    Thread Note:
Victor varied the amount of thread on their screws. Some screws are threaded all the way up while other are only partially threaded. If used for their intended application, the threading always works.
